Eskdale is a great starting point for a huge choice of walks. Choose from fell walks or rambles by the banks of the River Esk. This river meanders from Scafell at the top of the valley right the way down to the estuary at Ravenglass, a charming old fishing village! This river is popular for both fishing and boating. The Eskdale valley also has an 18 hole golf course . Recommended for a visit is the famous Ravenglass & Eskdale Miniature Railway which guides passengers through the valley, on a wonderful steam train adventure down to the sea.
